Clova Stuart-Hamilton: A Workshop on 'Expressive Landscape Drawing - learning from Van Gogh'

Thursday 13 September 2018

Click here for a list of the materials required.

You might also like to explore the Van Gogh Museum's extensive website In preparation for this workshop.

Among other things Clova has asked us to bring a selection of clear landscape photographs, preferably our own, on which to base our drawings using the techniques explained.  While you are out and about over the summer you may like to give some thought to this.  If you are not able to bring your own images, then a suitable calendar image would work.

* It is important the image has the potential for expressing a wide range of textures e.g. water, stone, gravel, tiles, masonry, sand, variety of foliage, grass

*  Also has fore, middle and background

A)  A rural scene - cottages, farm buildings, fields etc.

B)  Garden, trees, shrubs, garden buildings, paths, flower beds

C)  A not too complex street scene

D)  Harbour/port scene with boats, groynes, water etc.

All meetings are held in the Northcourt Centre, Abingdon OX14 1NS unless otherwise stated and start at 7.30 pm.  Fee for non members is £4.
